Semantic core of the site: the first part. The basics.
If you approach from the visual side of the question, then the semantic core of the site is a large table in exel, which contains a huge number of words and phrases. But we will approach from the other side: what is it and what is the use of it.
A person opens a page of the Yandex search engine and enters text in the search bar – this is a search query. A person’s need for this or that information. This need is formulated first in the person’s head, and then sent to the network. The task of the search engine is to provide a person with the most accurate answer to his request.
The search query has an additional function. After some time, the search query becomes a keyword. Keywords differ from search queries in that they are stored on the servers of the search engine and it has collected certain statistics on them.
The task of a webmaster is to select the most complete cluster of keywords. On their basis, a semantic core will be formed. The process of forming semantics is endless. First, its main core is created, which over time becomes overgrown with more and more new keywords. This base is regularly cleaned. Keywords are either added to it or removed.
After the database is formed, the webmaster starts creating content. In the case of information sites, articles are written. In the case of an online store, product cards are created.
In order to somehow identify and consolidate the concept of people’s desires and needs, a short and succinct definition was created-intent. The task of the search engine is to give the appropriate answer based on the user’s requests, that is, to identify his intent.
Here the webmaster is connected to the process. Its task is to use keywords to determine the user’s intent and create content corresponding to the intent.
The semantic core of the site is a list of keywords that describe the demand segment. In turn, the demand segment is a list of requests related to a specific topic for a specific intent.
What is the main task of a webmaster?
The task of a webmaster is to create content based on semantics in such a way that it responds to the user’s intent. It corresponded to its queries, including those that the user did not ask in the search engine request.
It is not enough to write an article with certain keywords that match users queries or their intent. It is necessary to inform the search engine that information necessary for users has appeared on such and such a site. This is done so that the search engine displays your site in the TOP of its search results.
When a user enters a query in the search bar, for example, Yandex will see 10 links to sites. It is necessary that the optimized site is in this top ten. Optimal in the first three positions.
In order for search engines to react to your site properly, it is necessary to design the content so that from their point of view it corresponds to the user’s requests as much as possible. This means that the page must be divided into certain parts. Each part corresponds to a particular request and ideally responded to the user’s intent.
Here it is worth considering another important factor. It lies in the fact that getting into the TOP search engine results is one thing, but staying in it is a completely different task. In this case, the search engine takes into account the behavioral factor.
The behavioral factor is a set of user actions that they perform with your content when they click on a link to your site from a search: how long they have been on your site, what they have done on it, and whether they have received a response to their request. If the content matches as much as possible what the user was looking for, then he will not click on other links, which means that your site should be in the TOP of the search engine output.
